Physical Properties:
SG-Ti 501 contains 20% Isopropanol. At room temperature, it is yellow alkaline liquid with density ρ25 1.06g/cm3. It can dissolve in water and alcohol. It hydrolyses in water or moisture environment and forms hydroxy titanium chelate, which is stable in aqueous solution for months. It can react with hydroxyl group, carboxyl group on the polymers or carbohydrates (such as wood, cellulose / nature fibers, starch, natural guar gum) and form chemical bonds which can crosslink the polymers and give stable gels solution.

Applications:
SG-Ti 501 is used as crosslinking agent in both solvent base and water base coatings. The dosage is around 0.5 to 5%. It is widely used as catalyst in carboxylic acid / aliphatic alcohols esterification and transesterification reactions and the dosage is around 0.1% to0.5%. After reactions, the catalyst does not form any polymeric TiO2 solid in the final product. It is low toxicity and recyclable. It decomposes at high temperature-around 350 to 650 deg. C and forms hard solid TiO2 film.
